Mexican Bittersweet Chocolate Sauce

Mexican Bittersweet Chocolate Sauce


Ingredients

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/3 cup sugar substitute
2 teaspoons cornstarch
Pinch of salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of cayenne pepper
1 cup Glucerna® Creamy Chocolate Delight Shake
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract


Directions
  1. In a medium-size, heavy-gauge saucepan, combine the cocoa, sugar substitute, cornstarch, salt, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. Whisk dry ingredients together. Pour in the Glucerna Shake and whisk to combine. Add the butter.
     
  2. Heat the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring with a whisk the entire time until the sauce thickens. (Do not boil.) Stir in the vanilla extract. Serve warm or cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator. Reheat gently before using.
